Got a TV that needs to be mounted?
I offer custom TV installation services throughout Arvada, Westminster, Thornton, Aurora, Littleton, Lakewood, Golden and Denver.
Make sure you considered these project hang-ups:
*The size written on the mount box is in inches and matches your TV style. This is a very easy thing to overlook and both the customer and myself overlooked it.
*Decide on flat mount, ceiling mount or adjustable mount. There are stationary and mounts that adjust from side to side. If you have the space or height this may be an option for your home.
* Find a good wall to secure the mount too. TV’s are heavy and require 2×4 support not just drywall anchors. My preference is installing some form of wooden plate so that I can better center the mount and television.
* Weight! How heavy is your TV? How big is it? There may be limitations on the size and weight some adjustable TV mounts can handle. Check to see what the weight capacity is!
Here is a short video of a small handyman job I did in the North Denver area. Total cost of the project was about $125. The homeowner supplied the TV mount. He originally picked up a flat TV mount and it was sold with metric measurements and did not fit.
He quickly ran out and got the mount you see in the video above. That’s a flexible, adjustable TV mount and is really nice if you have to mount in a corner like this. This was a great project and I really enjoyed working with this couple.
They had a heavy TV (50lbs) and the best wall for hanging the TV had a recessed door (pocket door) running through it. I had to mount to the side wall and decided to plate the TV mount bracket with a 2×12 board. What a great little Denver handyman project!
