Don’t let a bad water seal ruin your cabinets!
Here are some things to consider about your caulking project:
Caulking comes in many colors and is specifically designed for the surface you are applying it to. There are interior and exterior caulks and proper temperatures at which to apply them. To complicate it a little more… When applying caulk to an exterior surface, make sure the depth of the caulk bead does exceed the fail point.
An example would be exterior concrete and how some cracks are bigger than others. You have to pay attention to the depth and width of the caulk bead or it will crack and fail. On interior applications caulk is a great filler for smaller holes and just never really cures when used in a large crack.
Here is a video of a quick kitchen counter top that I sealed!
This was part of a larger project and apartment flip. Caulking really gives a clean and finished look to many surfaces. This is just an apartment with a cheap counter top. Look how quick and neat this makes the counter look. Plus this makes cleaning the wall and counter top much easier!
Over the years I have caulked everything from tubs to windows and more. I try my best to use the correct sealant for the project at hand. I also do my best to leave a finished professional look to the actual caulk bead and always smooth out the caulking materials.
